The visual media option allows students to integrate the graphic communications professions of photography, media design, and business. Most visual media students earn a minor in business. This option prepares students for a career as a visual media specialist or other professional positions that have a demand for photographically skilled professionals who can work effectively with graphic designers, print media specialists, multimedia and social media professionals. This option is part of the Photographic and Imaging Arts BFA program.
Photo
The Visual Media program at RIT allows for a wide range of studies, and students have access to photojournalism, advertising photography, and fine art photo classes.
Design
Visual Media students can explore many kinds of digital design, from 2d to 4d and more. These mediums can lead to applications such as web design, video production, and advertising.
Business
Business in the Visual Media program covers marketing and public relations, among other options. These skills work with the other branches of Visual Media in applications like social media marketing or traditional advertising.
